About

Built by someone who needed it first.

Tobi is made by Hivetivity, run by Ryan Hall. It began as the system he ran his own working life on, which is a different starting point from a demo that had to be reverse-engineered into a product.

Twenty-five years of watching details die.

Ryan has spent his career building marketing and automation systems for B2B companies that had to make the number: the operations layer underneath, the part that has to keep working on a Tuesday when nobody is watching it. The recurring failure was never a lack of information. It was that what someone knew lived in their head, their inbox, and a meeting note nobody could find, and it left the building when they did.

The same thing happens to individuals, just more quietly. You walk into a call half-remembering who you are about to talk to, and the value of everything you wrote down over twenty years rounds to zero because you cannot get at it.

02

It runs on his notes before it runs on yours.

Every morning the same brief you would get lands in his inbox, built from his own vault, on the same code that is serving this page. That is not a testing philosophy, it is just what happened: the product exists because he wanted the brief. It means the things that annoy you have usually annoyed him first, and it means nobody here has to guess whether a feature is actually useful on a normal working day.

What we are deliberately not doing.

A short list, because what a company refuses to build tells you more than what it ships.

No inbox access

You forward, we do not read

Asking for your whole mailbox would be the easy way to build this. It would also put a copy of your inbox in our systems. The full reasoning is here.

No lock-in

Plain files, always

The export button is not a retention concession. It is the reason the product is worth starting, and it works on day one and on your last day.

No invented memories

Sources or silence

Every answer shows where it came from, and when there is nothing it says so. An assistant that guesses about your life is worse than none.

04

If you would rather someone else set it up.

Hivetivity also does this as a done-for-you engagement. Your notes migrated, your people and projects mapped around how you actually work, and monthly tuning so it keeps earning its place. Most people who buy software like this never finish setting it up, and that is precisely what is being sold.

Where do your details currently die?

That is the whole pitch. If you know the answer immediately, this was built for you.

No card to start. Plain files you can export any day.
